The GreenToGo team is proud of its response to Coronavirus. GreenToGo is currently available for customer checkout at partner restaurants that are open. Meanwhile, we have defined a set of fortified safety parameters for our operations during these uncertain times.

Current: Condition Orange – reduced operations

GreenToGo defines our current condition as Orange. This means that despite the City of Durham’s decision to reopen businesses on May 15, 2020, GreenToGo will maintain only reduced operations. Reduced operations is defined as collection of dirty containers and restocking restaurants with remaining clean inventory. However, wash operations are currently on hold, meaning that dirty containers will be stored until Condition Yellow. GreenToGo’s extra precaution is that we will not move to Condition Yellow until the number of new cases statewide has declined for at least 14 days and is statistically significant. To determine this, we will perform a linear regression test on the latest case data every Friday. Further, the statewide key metrics for North Carolina must continue to be met. GreenToGo implements these safety precautions during Condition Orange:

  1. GreenToGo employees wear cloth or disposable masks when in public and maintain a minimum 6 feet physical distance from others.
  2. Riders sanitize bicycle handlebars with 60+% ethanol or isopropyl alcohol solution before and after riding.
  3. GreenToGo Riders wear disposable gloves during routes OR sanitize hands with 60+% ethanol or isopropyl alcohol solution before and after touching each return station.

Future: Condition Yellow – full operation with strict precautions

Only when a statistically significant 14-day statewide decline in cases is confirmed using a linear regression test on the latest case data will GreenToGo resume full operations. Further, the statewide key metrics for North Carolina must continue to be met. Full operations is defined as pickup, washing, and restocking. We will strictly implement the following safety precautions during Condition Yellow:

    1. All employees wear masks when in public and maintain a minimum 6 feet physical distance from others.
    4. GreenToGo employees wear gloves, facemask, and eye protection or face shield while at the wash facility.
    5. Before entering regular wash cycle in the dishwasher, dirty containers are placed into an additional quaternary ammonium bath.
    6. Ultraviolet germicidal fixtures affixed to containers racks will further sanitize clean containers and other exposed surfaces.
    7. Clean containers are delivered to restaurants in a contact-free manner, and Riders wear disposable gloves.

Recognizing that infection resurgence is possible, we will revert to Condition Orange or Red should cases increase again.

Past Condition: Red – minimal operations

Up until May 15, 2020, GreenToGo maintained only minimal operations, which we term Condition Red. Condition Red is defined as collection of dirty containers only. During this condition, we are not restocking restaurants with clean inventory or performing wash operations, meaning that all dirty containers are stored until Condition Yellow. Safety precautions during Condition Red include:
